Ephesians 6 referes to the ever common and familiar concept of the armor of God; Ephesians 6:12 - Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand...
14; Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist; | and then, I'm brought to these scriptures of truth stating affirmation and boldness:
Colossians 1:15 - He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For god was please to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether thing on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. - Colossian 1:15-21
It even continues further to confirm salvation through the cross; however, for an opening statement of faith I think that this will due. And though this statement is clear in what it means, the Bible or The Word confirms its syndication and it's proof of purchase in Romans saying:
Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. - Romans 1:20
I like the connection with armor in the bible. Christ is something that we cloak ourselves with: an armor, with his word as his weapon. Ephesians 3 goes on to explain the element of the "inner man" or the "inner being": that which is intangible. I can imagine the human condition being something like hairless monkeys running around an orbital ball in the middle on no where, and whenever God decided to have hand to hand contact with the mushy meat mammals of Earth, the thing he does is gives us a shell to crawl into - and doesn't call us to fight, but to stand in him
This is the belt of truth -- and what I've come to know of it.
